Candidate Rating
EXPLANATIONS ON HIGHLIGHTED VOTES
Below are explanations of some of the ratings we gave on the 4 My Canada candidate report card. This is not an exhaustive appendix to all the ratings, but rather a sampling of some of those that may require explanation for some.
DR. LESLYN LEWIS
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WINNABILITY IN SUBURBAN & URBAN CENTRES:
A
The ridings which will likely determine who wins the next general election are the Anglophone urban and suburban ridings. At a low count, 124 of ridings are in this category. Quebec only has 78 ridings.
This means, that the most winnable candidate is very likely not the one that can win the most ridings in Quebec, but rather the one that can win the most ridings in suburban, and urban, areas of English Canada.
As a lawyer from the GTA, who immigrated to Canada at the age of 4, Dr. Lewis has a high potential of doing very well in these critical ridings in a general election. She will be able to win Liberal and NDP votes here.
For this reason, we give her a very high rating on winnability.
ENDING FEDERAL MANDATES:
A+
Dr. Lewis has been an advocate for ending federal mandates, and freedom of conscience on vaccination, even prior to the Freedom Convoy.
In 2021 she tweeted in support of parent rights to conduct themselves in accordance to their conscience on the issue of child vaccination. She was contacted by Erin O'Toole's office at the time and told to remove the tweet. She refused stating that it was more important for her to represent parents in her riding who elected her, than to follow partisan politics.
Dr. Leslyn Lewis, out of principled resistance to the federal mandates, refused to disclose her personal vaccination status. She was one of only a few MPs who took this principled stance. She was also challenged in the national media on it. Because of this stance, she lost a shadow cabinet position.
Translation: Dr. Lewis took a stand on this issue when it was less popular, and when it cost her personally.
PARENTAL RIGHTS:
A+
Dr. Lewis, if elected, plans to bring forward a parental bill to protect a parent's right to raise their child in accordance with their faith, without government coercion.

ENVIRONMENT:
A+
Dr. Lewis, is pro-resource development and also has a masters in Environmental Studies. She can speak to the responsible development of our resource sector, and national conduct, with a high level of insight, innovation and credibility.
PIERRE
POILIEVRE
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE:
C+
Pierre Poilievre has received a lower rating on this category because he has said he will NOT revisit C-4 (formerly C-6). This bill was passed in early 2022 and could lead to pastors and councillors being put into prison for up to 5 years for counselling someone on the basis of the Biblical understanding of sexuality.
Pierre Poilievre has said he will leave this bill as it is.
(Note on this issue: The only other candidate that has directly spoken to this bill is Dr. Leslyn Lewis. She has stated that she feels this bill is flawed, was mistakenly rushed past the committee stage, and that if elected, her government would revisit it.)
ENDING FEDERAL MANDATES:
B
Though Pierre Poilievre has spoken against federal mandates in the last weeks, compared to Dr. Lewis and Roman Baber, he has been late to this conversation.
Our sources in the party have informed us that Pierre Poilievre did not speak in favour of this issue under Erin O'Toole's leadership, and was one of the MPs resistant in caucus to bringing the issue forward.
Though recently Pierre Poilievre has been seen with Trucker Convoy affiliates, at the time of the convoy he kept his distance meeting with truckers only on the outskirts of Ottawa.
It is because of this, that when weighed against Roman Baber and Dr. Lewis, Pierre Poilievre ranks much lower.
It is our view, that leaders must be willing to do, and speak, what is right both when it is politically advantageous and when it is not.
Roman Baber and Dr. Leslyn Lewis spoke on the federal mandates when it cost them.
Pierre Poilievre began speaking on this issue after putting his name forward to run for leadership.
PRO-LIFE:
F
Pierre Poilievre has stated, multiple times, that he is pro-choice and that under his government a bill restricting abortion access would not pass.
He has gone on record stating that he would not adjust the legislative status quo on abortion. The status quo is legal abortion up until full term birth, at taxpayer expense and for no medical reason.
PARENTAL RIGHTS:
C
See explanation in section on freedom of conscience just above.
DOMESTIC SECURITY:
B
Pierre Poilievre has said that he will not allow members of his cabinet to be a part of the World Economic Forum, an international agency committed to centralizing nations under global control mechanisms.
At the same time, one of his key political advisors, John Baird, is known to be personally involved with the World Economic Forum. It is unclear how much influence Baird will have over a Pierre Poilievre government and team.
CAMPAIGN TEAM & KEY ASSOCIATIONS
C-
Key individuals on Pierre Poilievre's campaign and advisory teams include:
Jennie Byrne
Kory Teneycke
John Baird
Byrne and Teneycke were involved in the removal of Andrew Scheer as leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, widely due to his personal social conservative (pro-life) values.
John Baird was in Prime Minister Stephen Harper's cabinet as one of the most liberally progressive there.

:
ROMAN
BABER
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
FREEDOM OF CONSCIENCE:
A+
Roman Baber will allow free conscience votes in his caucus if he is elected. For e.g. though he is not pro-life, he will allow pro-life caucus members to bring forward private members bills of their choosing and he would allow them to vote their conscience on these bills.
ENDING FEDERAL MANDATES:
A+
For the last 2 years, Roman Baber has been one of the strongest elected voices in Canada opposing federal mandates. He lost his position with in the Ontario Conservative Caucus because of his strong stances opposing vaccine mandates, particularly the lockdowns and mandatory vaccination for employment.

Pro-Life Voters
If you are a pro-life CPC voter who does not feel comfortable voting for a leader that supports the current law on abortion (legal abortion up until full term birth), than the above ballot is recommended for you.
By only filling out your first choice, and leaving the rest blank, you are sending a message to the Conservative Party of Canada that the life issue is a non-negotiable issue for you and that your support of the party will depend on their position on abortion and related conscience issues (such as the right for a medical professional not to participate in the procedure if it transgresses their conscience).
